Nirmal Upreti
Advocate, Nirmal Kumar Upreti is a young human rights defender and youth activist from Nepal who has more than 10 years of professional experiences in the diverse working areas including sustainable development, peace and SRHR. He has completed LL.M from Kathmandu School of Law, MA in English from Tribhuvan University and LL.B from Nepal Law Campus. Mr. Upreti has contributed to establish the Youth Policy-2010 and has worked on Peace Process of Nepal by engaging himself in Maoist Army Reintegration Process in 2012. He has expertise on working in migrant workers issues. Mr. Upreti is one of the pioneers of Community Mobile Legal Clinic Aid project in Nepal. His innovative projects has awarded with UNDP Success Story in 2010. Legal Awareness, Legal Literacy and Free Legal Counselling to marginalized and vulnerable population of the community and providing access to justice at door-steps are the components of the project. He is the founder president and currently the patron of Nepalese Law Students Association (NeLSA), an umbrella organization of Nepali law students where more than 600 law students are associated all around the world. He also serves as a founder president of Forum for Nation Building, Nepal, an NGO of young professionals dedicated for the nation building initiatives.
Lokmani Rai
Position: Vice-President
Lokmani Rai is young human rights defender and journalist by profession. He has more than 14 years of experiences of working with print media comprising daily, weekly and monthly newspaper and magazine of Academically Mr. Rai has received Masters Degree in English Literature and Political Science from Tribhuvan University. He has also received Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Mr. Rai is a trainer and resource person for Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalist Journalists (FONIJ). He also has received Kantipur Extra ordinary Performance Award 2012, SEJON Award 2012, SEJON Award 2013 and Competitive Investigative Journalism Award 2013 by CIJ and British Embassy. Mr. Rai is founding vicepresident of Forum for Nation Building Nepal and plays the crucial role on setting the organization vision, mission and goal.
Manju Gautam
Position: Secretary
Manju Gautam is a youth, social activist and an entrepreneur. She has completed her Master in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in human resource management with Bachelor in Law (LLB). She is one of the founder of FNB Nepal and currently she is involved with FNB Nepal as a Team Leader and Secretary. She was previously involved with DHL as a Customer Service Country Manager and Standard Chartered Bank as a Customer Service Manager in Priority Banking. She also serves as a member of US Embassy Youth Advisory Council-2015/16 and Adviser of Kathmandu Don Bosco Alumni since May 2012. She was also associated with Laxmi Pratisthan, NGO as a founding Vice President since December 2009 to Feb 2012. Social work is her passion so she has been associated with various voluntary and social welfare activities including human rights, development and youth rights since the very beginning. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, dancing, travelling and photography.
Amrita Mandal
Position: Treasure
Ms. Amrita Mandal is young human rights defender and serves voluntarily on organization activities. She has completed Master in Business Studies and she has experiences of working in banking sector of Nepal. She is interested to work on women rights, gender justice and equality issues. Currently she serves as an executive member of Forum for Nation Building Nepal.
Deepa Dahal
Position: Executive Member
Ms. Deepa Dahal is young human rights defender and serves voluntarily on organization activities. She has completed Bachelor degree in Humanities and she has worked in WASH project-WDSC, as Program Coordinator for 2 years. She is interested to work on women rights, gender justice and equality issues. Currently she serves as an executive member of Forum for Nation Building Nepal.
Durga Pokhrel
Position: Executive Member
Ms. Durga Pokhrel, is an activist and human rights defender from Nepal. She is engaged as a board member of FNB Nepal since 2020. She has been working for the protection and promotion of rights of Nepali migrant workers, especially working for the rights of women migrant workers fore more than 15 years. She is a returnee migrant worker from Israel. She has worked with number of migrant rights organizations including Foreign Employment Board, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security for many years.
Hira Bahadur Thapa Magar
Mr. Hira Bahadur Thapa Magar , is a well known, award winning farmer from Madhesh province of Nepal. He is also a returnee migrant worker from Malaysia, who worked there for more than 10 years. Besides his active involvement in the farming sector of Nepal, as a young entrepreneur he is a role model for many Nepali youths, who want to do something in Nepal and advance Nepal’s agriculture sectors with high motivation and praise.
He has been engaged in social sectors for the last 15 years nationally and internationally. He is the board member of FNB Nepal from 2020.
