Nirmal Upreti
Advocate, Nirmal Kumar Upreti is a young human rights defender and youth activist from Nepal who has more than 10 years of professional experiences in the diverse working areas including sustainable development, peace and SRHR. He has completed LL.M from Kathmandu School of Law, MA in English from Tribhuvan University and LL.B from Nepal Law Campus. Mr. Upreti has contributed to establish the Youth Policy-2010 and has worked on Peace Process of Nepal by engaging himself in Maoist Army Reintegration Process in 2012. He has expertise on working in migrant workers issues. Mr. Upreti is one of the pioneers of Community Mobile Legal Clinic Aid project in Nepal. His innovative projects has awarded with UNDP Success Story in 2010. Legal Awareness, Legal Literacy and Free Legal Counselling to marginalized and vulnerable population of the community and providing access to justice at door-steps are the components of the project. He is the founder president and currently the patron of Nepalese Law Students Association (NeLSA), an umbrella organization of Nepali law students where more than 600 law students are associated all around the world. He also serves as a founder president of Forum for Nation Building, Nepal, an NGO of young professionals dedicated for the nation building initiatives.
Manju Gautam
Position: Vice-President
Manju Gautam is a social activist, entrepreneur and consultant committed to social welfare and empowerment. She holds Master’s in Business Administration (HR Management) and a Bachelor’s in Law degree. She is the Founder and Vice President of FNB Nepal. Currently, she serves as a board member of the National Youth Council under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. She is also the chairperson of Connecting Management Consultant Pvt Ltd. She has worked at DHL Nepal and Standard Chartered Bank Nepal in senior managerial roles. She was a member of the US Embassy Youth Advisory Council (2015/16). She is the founding member of Laxmi Pratisthan (2009) and an adviser for Kathmandu Don Bosco Alumni, PIB, International Youth Society and Business Communities. With a deep passion for business & human rights, peace building and community empowerment; Ms. Gautam has been a strong advocate for youth and women’s rights. Her work focuses on promoting social justice, equality and making a positive societal impact through her involvement in various voluntary and social welfare activities.
Sundar Lal Thing
Position: Secretary
Mr. Sundar Lal Thing is a secretary of organization, is a farmer by profession. He is retired Nepal army and has been engaged in social and community services for more than seven years. Academically, he has completed Master in Political Science. He has expertise on self-defense, peace keeping mission and operation of weapons.
Amrita Mandal
Position: Treasure
Ms. Amrita Mandal is young human rights defender and serves voluntarily on organization activities. She has completed Master in Business Studies and she has experiences of working in banking sector of Nepal. She is interested to work on women rights, gender justice and equality issues. Currently she serves as an executive member of Forum for Nation Building Nepal.
Deepa Dahal
Position: Executive Member
Ms. Deepa Dahal is young human rights defender and serves voluntarily on organization activities. She has completed Bachelor degree in Humanities and she has worked in WASH project-WDSC, as Program Coordinator for 2 years. She is interested to work on women rights, gender justice and equality issues. Currently she serves as an executive member of Forum for Nation Building Nepal.
Durga Pokhrel
Position: Executive Member
Ms. Durga Pokhrel, is an activist and human rights defender from Nepal. She is engaged as a board member of FNB Nepal since 2020. She has been working for the protection and promotion of rights of Nepali migrant workers, especially working for the rights of women migrant workers fore more than 15 years. She is a returnee migrant worker from Israel. She has worked with number of migrant rights organizations including Foreign Employment Board, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security for many years.
Hira Bahadur Thapa Magar
Position: Executive Member
Mr. Hira Bahadur Thapa Magar , is a well known, award winning farmer from Madhesh province of Nepal. He is also a returnee migrant worker from Malaysia, who worked there for more than 10 years. Besides his active involvement in the farming sector of Nepal, as a young entrepreneur he is a role model for many Nepali youths, who want to do something in Nepal and advance Nepal’s agriculture sectors with high motivation and praise.
He has been engaged in social sectors for the last 15 years nationally and internationally. He is the board member of FNB Nepal from 2020.
