Nepal–India Youth Exchange Program
Forum for Nation Building Nepal (FNB Nepal) invites applications from eligible young legal professionals for:
Position: Young Fellow (02 Positions)
Host Organization: National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, India
Partner Organization: National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, India
Exchange Duration: 6 Months in India + 2 Months Follow-up at FNB Nepal
Programme Start: September 2026
Age Limit: 18- 35 Years
Stipend: As per the fund allocated

About EmpowerYouth Fellow
EmpowerYouth Fellow is an international youth exchange initiative under the Norec Exchange Programme, implemented by FNB Nepal in partnership with NUSRL Ranchi. The fellowship provides young legal professionals with practical exposure in community justice, legal literacy, governance, migration, human rights, mediation, and field-based legal research.
Key Responsibilities
Selected fellows will:
- Support Community legal aid clinic and legal awareness activities
• Engage with communities and document justice-related practices
• Conduct comparative legal research and prepare policy documents
• Participate in workshops, consultations, and training programmes
• Prepare progress reports and final fellowship documentation
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions after completion of the exchange
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a Nepali citizen
• Be within 18- 35 years of age
• Be an LL.B. or LL.M. student, LLB graduate or early-career legal professional
• Have interest in access to justice, governance, migration, human trafficking ,human rights, and legal empowerment - Possess strong English communication and writing skills
• Be willing to stay in India for six months and complete follow-up activities at FNB Nepal
• Have a valid passport for international travel, if required
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in legal aid, research, mediation, community outreach, documentation, or work with vulnerable communities.
Preference will be given to candidates who have knowledge and understanding of the languages of both the host and home countries.
Fellowship Support
selected fellows will receive:
- International travel support
• Accommodation support
• Monthly stipend
• Insurance coverage
• Visa assistance (if required)
• Official travel support
• Professional mentoring
