Ensuring Safer and Informed Migration for Students

FNB Nepal, in collaboration with IOM Nepal, organized an awareness and advocacy campaign titled ‘Migration School’ at Shree Secondary School, Pipra-1, Mahottari, in coordination with school leadership and local stakeholders.
The session was conducted on 1st September 2025 with the objective of empowering higher secondary students with essential knowledge on the risks associated with forced labour, human trafficking, human smuggling, online scams, and visit visa frauds, while also promoting fair and ethical migration pathways.
In addition, the session included vital discussions on sexual exploitation and abuse, particularly in the context of foreign employment, helping students to better understand prevention strategies, reporting mechanisms, and available support services.
A total of 97 individuals participated in the program, including 94 students (55 female and 39 male). The interactive session further engaged students through general knowledge (G.K.) questions and the distribution of IEC materials to encourage safe and informed decision-making.
Through this initiative, students gained a deeper understanding of migrant workers’ rights, safe migration practices and measures for protection against exploitation.
