Online Training of Trainers on Minority Rights

Two days web-based training of trainers has been successfully conducted with active partaking of 25 participants selected from more than 75 applicants. The training of trainers conducted under the Project PROTOCOL is a joint effort with Nepal Youth Council (NYC), NGO Federation and Emergency Response Centre (ERC) to enhance the capacity of youths especially representing the vulnerable and marginalized communities on their roles to promote and protect the rights of minority groups and leverage the space to create an enabling environment for effective pro bono work in ensuring and enhancing their access to justice. Given the situation of the unprecedented pandemic of COVID-19, the training was held through the digital medium on ZOOM. The Upon the completion of the training, the successful candidates will form a volunteer group who will be responsible to document and bring the cases of minority rights violation in attention through their research-based article writing as required. 11 sessions by different experts were covered over two days under the course of the training discoursing and learning about the concept of minority and minority rights. A volunteer team entailing of the participants of the training has been formed who now will be responsible for documenting and bringing into attention of the concerned stakeholders regarding violation and infringement of minority rights. These volunteers will also be advocating for ensuring and enhancing minority rights through the tools of advocacy learned during the training.
