FNB Nepal Working Mechanism

Forum for Nation Building (FNB) Nepal had complete its all targeted activities which were mainly focused on legal empowerment including Community Mobile Legal Clinics (CMLC), Migration Schools, Training to local government representatives. CMLC is focused on the survivors of earthquake which includes the public awareness and legal advocacy on policies an act for the reconstruction of private housing from earthquake. We successfully conduct 283 CMLC in our project during the present context. From the previous we include public awareness on amended provisions on the muluki ain civil and criminal code of conduct 2074. We visited in the 283 places of our projected districts to conduct our CMLC for the public awareness. We directly contact approximately 20000 people and deals with approximately 2800 cases. Such cases were counsel in the clinics, if any case was found which were not guarantee in any laws then those cases will forwarded to concerned stakeholder i.e. Nepal Reconstruction authority (NRA) through policy advocacy and interaction meeting. We conduct seven policy advocacy and interaction meeting with the stakeholder to discuss about cases which was arises in CMLC. We had conduct policy advocacy in NRA with section officer of NRA, journalist, local government representatives and officials on the behalf of earthquake survivors. Gradually we are also conducting training to local government representative for the operation of local administrative bodies. After the training to the local government representatives we collaborate with local government to conduct CMLC in their communities. The participants of the CMLC were selective and interested in CMLC when the clinics were organized with collaboration with ward office and we found as it was the effective way to conduct the CMLC.
