Community Mobile Legal Clinic (CMLC) conducted in Solukhumbu

FNB had conducted CMLC in Solukhumbu, Dudhkunda Municipality ward no. 3,5,6,7 and 11 from 9th to 11th August to provide legal counselling to earthquake victims where there were presence of 897 participants (538 male 359 female). Most of the people have questions about the process of receiving grant for reconstruction as their name was not listed as beneficiary list. In addition to this, they missed to file complaint too due to which they were in dilemma that how to mentioned their name in beneficiary list. Some of them have confusion regarding construction of house with the grant amount in another ward. In this instance, people’s confusions and questions were solved by the practitioner lawyers by providing information about the procedure to enlist the name of earthquake victims in beneficiary list as prescribed by the prevailing law. Two CMLC were conducted at Chautara Sanghachowkgadhi, ward number 1 and 6, Sindhupalchowk on 8th and 9th September respectively to total of 303 participants (158 male 145 female). The participants were provided with the information on legal provisions and sanction in case of polygamy, child marriage as prescribed by newly implemented Criminal and Civil Code 2074. Similarly, they were provided with the process to enlist the name in beneficiary list to receive government grant. Legal solution was provided to the people in relation to partition of property.
