Community Mobile Legal Clinic (CMLC) Conducted in Kavrepalanchowk

FNB Nepal has projected to conduct 90 Community Mobile Legal Clinic (CMLC) in eight districts of Nepal to provide legal assistance to earthquake victims. The clinic aimed to support earthquake victims with the collaboration of lawyers in drafting of legal documents to acquire missing certificates and documents. In addition to this, they were provided with the information about legal procedure to receive government grant to start reconstruction of their house. CMLC was conducted in seven wards of Kavrepalnachowk. On 14th June 2018, CMLC was conducted in Banepa 5 which involved 68 participants. Most of the people had problems regarding receiving grant as their name had not been listed in the beneficiary list. Lawyers provided legal procedure to claim the grant right provided by the government along with consultations to other legal complexities as put forward by the participants. CMLC was conducted in Chandeshwori ward no. 5 Banepa in 28th June where there was presence of 110 participants. In that locality people were facing problem in receiving second instalment as they were unknown about the procedure. Similarly, some have question on the legal procedure to acquire tenant right where lawyers provided legal consultation to those problem. CMLC was conducted at Banepa, Salle ward no. 11 and Sinagal ward no. 11 on 16th and 24th August 2018 where 42 and 54 participants were present respectively. They were provided with the information regarding procedure of obtaining second instalment and subsidize loan provided by government at 2% interest which supported them to start reconstruction of their house. In the clinic they were provided with legal procedure to enlist the name of earthquake victim in beneficiary list. They had presented the problems relating to partition and land dispute, in which lawyers provided counselling to them.
