In 2017 Nepalese local elections were held in three phases dated 14th May, 28th June and 18th September respectively in 6 metropolitan cities, 11 sub-metropolitan cities, 276 municipalities and 460 rural municipalities as enshrined in the Constitution of Nepal. It was the first local level election to be held since the promulgation of the 2015 constitution. Under the affiliation of Election Commission Nepal, Forum for Nation Building (FNB) Nepal recruited 108 observers in all provinces of Nepal. Federal elections were held in Nepal in two phases on 26 November and 7 December 2017 where 275 members were elected to the House of Representative, the lower house of the Federal Parliament of Nepal. FNB Nepal recruited 66 observers in all provinces of Nepal for the second tenure of election.
